Girls Gone Sporty and a Busy Week

After having a great , but not really, in Nashville, I was happy to wake up last Sunday morning and see an email informing me that I had been accepted to Girls Gone Sporty ambassador program.  I know I’m bit late with this post, but better late than never!  I’m a part of Team Stellar, and from what I’ve seen so far, everyone on the team is amazing.girls gone sporty

In just one week, the ladies of Team Stellar have helped both the FitNicePT and FitNiceRunner Facebook and Twitter pages grow and posted lots of interesting, educational and inspiring blogs.  I’m looking forward to getting know this great group of women through social media, and hopefully, will get to meet some of them in personal as I travel the country to get my next 44 states.  It’s exciting to be part of a supportive, nurturing and enthusiastic community with those who have similar goals.  Promoting a healthy lifestyle, and helping people find theirs, is what drives both my business and myself, and it feels good to know Team Stellar is right there with me.

In addition to my excitement about being a Girls Gone Sporty ambassador, this is a busy week and I’m ready to get it going.  My training schedule calls for 36 miles, some of which will come from the EquiKids 5K on Saturday.  I’ll have to get the bulk of my miles in early, with a 12 miler on Monday to start, so I can take Friday off and rest up.  I really want to do well Saturday, girls gone sportybeating last year’s time on the cross country course and hopefully placing in my age group.  Maybe I’ll see a fellow Girls Gone Sporty ambassador there!  This will be my third year racing the 5K, and Doug and Jordy’s third year running the One Mile Run with the Hounds.  Before Race Day, Doug and I have a dinner party Thursday night and are seeing the Led Zeppelin Symphony Friday night.  I also have two Volunteer Appreciation parties this week, one before the show Friday night for the Oceanfront Spring Crawl (we raised over $2,000 for Stop Abuse, Inc on 3 May) for which Doug and I were on the planning committee, and the second after the EquiKids 5K as their annual volunteer appreciation picnic.

Phew!  After all that fun, my mom will be arriving Saturday afternoon to spend a few days in town en route to North Carolina and I’ll be ready for a nap.

What are you up to this week?  Do you volunteer?
